St. Louis County Department of Public Works E-Permitting System

Welcome to the St. Louis County Department of Public Works E-Permitting! This service is provided to our regular customers who wish to do business with the Public Works Department without the need to visit our office locations. This service will be provided to registered contractors who have an account with funds on deposit with the Public Works Accounting Section to draw against to cover the permit fee for permit requests made via the E-Permitting System.

Only permit applications which do not require a plan submittal or additional information from the applicant at the time of application qualify for and can be submitted by E-Permitting Process. Click on Drainlaying, Electrical, Mechanical, or Plumbing for a listing of the type of permits that can be submitted via the E-Permitting System.

The E-permitting System for Mechanical, Electrical, Building, Plumbing & Drainlaying EZ Permits is now accepting on-line payments from either a checking or savings account.

User Registration Instructions

In order to become a Registered User to participate in the E-Permitting System you will need to do the following:

  1. Fill out the registration form and bring it to the Department of Public Works.

  2. Using the online permit service will require a one-time in-person registration so we may verify your information and set up your password. For licensed or registered contractors, you will need to indicate your contractor's license or registration number and provide the Public Works Accounting Section with a start-up deposit if you do not already have one as a participant in the FAX PERMITTING SYSTEM. Bring a photo ID, such as your driver's license, with you.

  3. Contact Bob Lee, Public Works Permit Supervisor (314) 615-7146, to schedule a time which you can submit your registration form and deposit.

  4. At the time of application, the Public Works Permits Section staff will provide you with a personal identification number (P.I.N.) or password. The purpose of the PIN is to allow you to file applications for permits over the Internet. Keep your PIN in a secure place as you will need it whenever you wish to use the E-Permitting System.

  5. Allow one business day for processing of your registration request.
